Minnesota rallyed late to force an extra inning game against the Indians in a 4 game series, however it wasn’t enough as Cleveland scored in the bottom of the 10th. Fernando Cabrera got the win for the Indians and Pat Neshek got the loss.

Joe Mauer was hitless in the game. He has not been hitting as well the past week or so and as a result his batting average dropped to .344. Derek Jeter now leads the MLB in hitting with a .346 average. Mauer was able to get on base with a walk and score another run. Scoring runs has not been a problem for Mauer. He has great batters hitting behind him. Mauer also hit his 79th RBI. Mauer played a great game defensively behind the plate and did not allow a stolen base.

Game 3 of the 4 game series against the Indians starts tonight at 7:05 EST. Carlos Silva will take the mound for the Twins against C.C. Sabathia. The Twins loss puts them back to 2 games out of the Central Division lead, however, they are still 2 games up in the wild card race.
