The Minnesota Twins won the 2nd and 3rd game in a 3 game series against the Baltimore Orioles over the weekend. Joe Mauer had an excellent performance on Sunday going 3-5 with a homerun in his first at bat. It was his 12th homerun of the year.

His performance over the weekend boosted his batting average to .347, .005 points higher than Sanchez of the Pirates and .008 points higher than Derek Jeter. Mauer also threw out Gomez of the Orioles in an attempt to steal a base.

With only 6 games left in the season, it isn’t looking likely that the Twins will win the Division. Of course it is still possible because they are only 1.5 games out, however, the more likely scenario is the Twins will win the Wild Card.

The Twins start a 4 game home series against the Kansas City Royals today.
