The Minnesota Twins were shutout by the Boston Red Sox in the 3rd game of a 3 game series last night. This comes at bad timing as the Tigers lost as well. The Twins still remain .5 game back from the AL Central lead.

Joe Mauer gave tremendous effort in trying to help his team win. Mauer ended the game with 2 hits in 4 at bats (including another double). Mauer raised his average to .345, now only .002 points behind Sanchez for the MLB lead.

The Twins will now travel for a 3 game series in Baltimore starting tonight.
