Twins Beat Tigers Without Mauer

The Minnesota Twins were able to top the Detroit Tigers in a 2-1 game without catcher Joe Mauer. Mauer had the day off for rest after going 3-4 in the previous game on Friday. The win over Detroit kept the Twins atop the AL Wild Card standings and moved them to only 3 games out of 1st place in the American League Central Dvision.

Joe Mauer should be back in the lineup for the Sunday afternoon game as the Twins look to take the series.
