The Minnesota Twins are looking to sweep the Red Sox tonight in Boston. Their win last night kept them only .5 games out of first place.

Joe Mauer stepped up big with a double and a single going 2-5 with 2 runs scored. Mauer raised his average back up to .344, but still trails Sanchez of the Pirates by .002 points to the MLB leader. Mauer is however still the AL leader in batting average.

Mauer also had a great game behind the plate. He was able to throw out two runners trying to steal second. There’s no doubt that Joe Mauer is an instrumental part of the Twnis success this late in the season.
