The Minnesota Twins had a chance to tie the Tigers for the AL Central Division lead last night, however a loss to the Kansas City Royals kept them 1 game back.
Joe Mauer went 2-4 with a double, 1 run, and 1 rbi. The stellar performance at the plate was not enough to help the Twins win the game, but was sufficient enough to raise his batting average to a league leading .350.
Mauer was also able to throw out Esteban German who was trying to steal second base.
The Twins play their final game against Kansas City tonight, and then stay home for a 2 game series with the White Sox.
