“Twinsfest, the annual fund-raiser for the Twins Community Fund, kicks into high gear on Jan. 26-28 to help celebrate the club’s American League Central Division championship. More than 50 current and former Twins are scheduled to be in attendance, including Joe Mauer, AL MVP Justin Morneau, Michael Cuddyer, Joe Nathan, Ron Gardenhire, Harmon Killebrew and Rod Carew. In addition to the usual fanfare, there will be silent and live auctions of rare sports collectibles, free youth clinics, the Upper Midwest’s largest baseball card, information about the new ballpark, auditions to sing the national anthem before a 2007 Twins home game and a National Baseball Hall of Fame display, featuring Kirby Puckett’s Cooperstown plaque.
