Yesterday’s loss to the Detroit Tigers didn’t help the Twins fight for first place in the AL Central. They are now 1.5 games back of Cleveland. Not to worry though because the season is still young and we are just now getting into May.

Joe Mauer is still on a tear. He leads the Twins in hits with 31 and batting average with .369. Mauer also seems more disciplined at the plate. He leads the Twins with 15 bases on balls. The high walk count also contributes to his insane .465 OBP.

The Twins travel to Tampa Bay for a 3 game series against the Devil Rays on Tuesday.
