The Twins are entertaining the idea of a minor league rehab stint for Joe Mauer, who has been on the disable list for a few weeks now. He has missed 23 games so far with a strained quad. Ouch!

“Are we going to have him go and test that thing? I wonder about that myself,” Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said. “The plan was not to do that. The plan was, he should be ready, to get back in there and go. But with the soreness he’s had you start worrying about some things. “

“It’s going to be something that’s talked about. Right now, we’re trying to get back to the point where we can get him back out on the field.”

Mauer said he’s quad is starting to feel better and he has attempted to run the bases. We should know more on his status very soon.
