Joe Mauer batting lead-off?

The St. Cloud Times thinks Joe Mauer should bat lead-off.

I say why not? Joe Mauer is one of the best pure contact hitters in the game today. He’ll bat .300+ for his career with no problems. It’s no secret that as of late Mauer has lost some of his power. He’s really not suited for the 3-4-5 spot anymore because he can’t consistently drive in runs.
