This afternoon, the Minnesota Twins will break ground on a new stadium 10 years in the making. Groundbreaking ceremonies are slated to start at 5 p.m. CT and go until 7 p.m. Fans attending the ceremony will have the opportunity to meet current Twins players and alumni. Commissioner Bud Selig and Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty are also expected to attend.

The ballpark is scheduled to open for the 2010 season, the Twins’ 50th season in Minnesota.
