Sporting News brought up an interesting point. Should Joe Mauer play a different position?

The idea of moving Twins catcher Joe Mauer to a less taxing position doesn’t go over well with scouts. They say he is too valuable behind the plate even if he has to sit out more games, and he likely will miss about 50 in 2007, with a stint on the disabled list contributing to the figure. The main reason he should catch: He’s a rare plus defender at a usually weak offensive position. . . .

I think if Mauer goes through 1 more injury plagued season, the Twins should consider moving him to outfield. They need his bat in the lineup everyday if they want to compete in 2008.

i think joe should stay as a catcher because he is a very good one even if we need him up at bat more if he moves he might not like it and not do as well of a job so he should stay a catch

person, u must be stupid to think he will move to outfield. That’ll just make his injury worse with more running. He Is WAY to valueable behind the plate, and he doesnt run that well to play outfield anyway. Get your facts straight, kid.
