The award of the National League Manager of the Year was awarded to Bob Melvin. This is the man who had guided the Arizona Diamondbacks to the West Division title.

Bob had easily won his closest counterpart, Charlie Manuel from Philadelphia who had received seven first-place votes and 76 points. Bob had received about 19 of the 30 first-place votes with 119 from the Baseball Writers Association of America.

Diamondbacks is expected to spring a surprise this spring with the presence of the young roster Melvin in the team. Melvin is the person who had guided the team to a 90-72 record with a one-half game over the Colorado Rockies. So other teams had better be spruced up for the forthcoming baseball season.
