While you settle yourself in the load position to get ready for a shot, you have to take negative moves with your hands moving towards the back shoulder. hands have to be held high, at perhaps the top of the strike zone.

In doing all this, you should feel the slight pull of muscles from the torso and upper body, like you see in a winding spring. Make it a point to maintain a shorter and not longer stride with hands moving towards the back of your body and the front foot striding towards the pitcher.

This posture is referred to as ‘walking away from your hands’ by many coaches. In this position, your body should be about 80% on the back foot and only 20% on the front foot. The knees have to be slightly flexed in this position for better results.
