it was the ‘baffling’ and ‘frustrating’ responses that were received to the recommendations of George.J.Mitchell in testimony that lead to the criticism of Major League Baseball by leaders of two major Olympic antidoping agencies.
John Fahey, the president of the World Anti-Doping Agency had criticized Commissioner Bud Selig and Donald Fehr for their continued evasions of the antidoping reform and for their disregard for the truth.
Fahey stated that some of Selig’s and Fehr’s statements about the presence of a test for H.G.H. and the possibility of freezing blood samples for future testing were all fiction. The Major league Baseball retaliated by accusing Fahey of false public statements while the players union declined to comment, while Fehr said that he had not read the WADA statement.
