The next set of Topps baseball cards that you buy may have a picture of the former New York City Mayor celebrating Sox. This is because one in every 70 packs will have a picture of the mayor’s fist raised in victory, while celebrating the Red Sox with their World Series win.

Yankee fans need not worry as Giuliani; a die-hard supporter of the Red Sox’s chief rival never really was there. However this presidential candidate had in October alienated some New York fans by stating that he was supporting Boston in the World Series.

This is what gave the inspiration to Topps to come up with this new set of cards. Since Red Sox had won, Topps brand manager, Clay Luraschi thought that this would be a great idea. Even Giuliani’s withdrawal from the presidential race didn’t damper Clay’s enthusiasm for the card.
