After spending five years with the New York Mets, Tom Glavine will joining the Atlanta Braves. At the end of the 2007 season, Glavine was not really sure that he would be back with the Braves where he played from 1987-2002 and jagged 242 wins.

In the season finale of the Mets, Glavine withdrew just one batter and allowed seven runs. The Mets fell 8-1 facing their historic collapse. It was one of the most terrible starts of his career. Despite his well-known career with Atlanta, his Mets career was monotonous with the exception of his 300th win. This, in addition to his final start as a Met, made his reputation unpleasant in New York.

He refused a $13 million option with the Mets in October and signed a one-year, $8 million deal with the Braves in November.
