At last Francisco Liriano arrived early Wednesday morning at the Twins camp. His late arrival was caused by visa problems and therefore he had missed Spring Training’s first nine days.

There were doubts whether he would be behind the other pitchers because of his late arrival. But it was not an issue since Liriano has already pitched in two games at the Twins Academy in the Dominican Republic. According to Liriano his recent fastball was at 95 mph.

Liriano appears ready to rise things up as soon as possible. As for his intended date to pitch, Liriano would be throwing a bullpen session on Friday and he is hoping to make his Grapefruit League debut either on Monday or Tuesday.

In 2006 Liriano was known as one of the most controlling pitchers in baseball.
He went 12-3 with a 2.16 ERA and 144 strikeouts in 121 innings, which earned him his first All-Star bid.
