Who will be taking up the spot of Johan Santana? As of now, Santana is no more with the Twins and the spot for the Opening Day starter against the Angels is still left open.

No indications have been made by manager Gardenhire as to who will be taking up the position. But there is a name that is frequently brought up in discussions and that is Scott Baker. Going 9-9 with a 4.26 ERA last season, there is no surprise that he is strongly being considered for the spot.

In his first Grapefruit League against the Reds, Baker pitched two scoreless innings giving him a strong beginning in his spring entrance. He is being looked upon as one of the leaders of the young staff.

In addition to his great leadership skills, Baker is being more confident this season and this confidence is what the Team is excited about- excited what to expect from Baker!
