Some of the funniest and most amusing moments in history really do occur around sports. Behind their focused and expressionless exterior, many of our favorite athletes do have a pretty good sense of humor as well.

Here are just a few examples.

1. In Baseball…At Jack Russell Stadium in Clearwateron June 26, 1985, organist Wilbur Snapp played “Three Blind Mice” following a call by umpire Keith O’Connor. The umpire was’nt amused, and saw to it that Mr. Snapp was ejected from the game.

2. In golf, On February 6, 1971 the first golf ball was hit on the moon by Alan Shepard.

3.In Running, Poland’s Stella Walsh won the women’s 100 meter race at the 1932 Olympics in Los Angeles. She was the first woman to break the 12-second barrier. When she was killed in 1980 as an innocent victim in a robbery attempt, an autopsy determined that she was actually a male.

4. In soccer, a USA trainer had to be carried off unconscious during the 1930 World Cup Semi-Final against Argentina after he ran to the pitch to attend an injured player, dropped his medicine box, and broke a bottle of chloroform. When he tried to pick up the broken bottle, he took in the fumes and fell to the ground immediately. The injured player recovered without any treatment.

LOL. :D For more sports trivia, tales and just general funny stuff, go to http://sportzfun.com/, which also gets credit for this post! ☺
