The Mets are getting ready to move into their new Citi Field, and say goodbye to the Shea stadium. This latest move is getting many to sit up and take notice that almost all baseball clubs seem to be getting new and improved homes!
The White Sox started it in 1992 and it hasn’t stopped since. Moves are expected up until 2012.
Voters seem to be very generous with their tax money. The question remains whether the few remaining teams still in old stadiums will get the voters nods as well.
Even the older parks, who don’t really want to move because of historical reasons are getting millions for renovations.
With all this spending and improvements, I guess it still is safe to say that Baseball still remains America’s favorite sport!
