Baseball Anecdotes: “Two Hits or Three”

A sports writer once asked Yogi Berra about his two hits from
the previous night’s game. Berra corrected the man and said
that he had three hits and not two.

The man apologized, but not without saying that he had checked
the paper and the box score had said that he only had two hits.
He further said that maybe the third must have been a
typographical error.

Berra replied, “ Hell no, it was a clean single to left.”
